Growing Calls in the US and UK for LGBTQ Foster and Adoptive Parents

Recently cities including Philadelphia in the US and Bristol in England, plus the country of Wales, have been putting out the call for LGBTQ parents who are interested in fostering and adoption.

In the United States

Florida: New push underway to get more foster parents in Central Florida

In the United Kingdom

England: LGBT couples encouraged to adopt or foster in Bristol

“Same-sex couples are being encouraged to adopt or foster children by Bristol City Council. LGBT people are being reassured they will not be discriminated against in Bristol, with the council holding an event for those interested in adoption or fostercare.”

Wales: Wales: More LGBT couples urged to adopt or foster children

“1 in 8 adoptions in Wales were with same-sex couples in 2016-2017. There are 140 children who are currently waiting for an adoptive family but only one in eight adoptions in Wales were with same-sex couples since being allowed in 2005.”
